PALIMPSEST | 2007
Video, fabric, embroidery thread, silver and steel wire.
Palimpsest is a collaborative project with friend and fellow artist Larita Engelbrecht. The work consists of a stop frame animation of fabric being embroidered that has been looped, overlaid and reversed. The embroidered fabric made during the making of the video has also been transformed into three brooches. The project won the Timo Smuts student art prize at Stellenbosch University in 2007.
